I may go and learn it.

I happen to know the Aussie one, due to interest and a recording.

if all that is true, poor US!

It does seem like we will help with things and get criticized for not doing enough even so, like when the Haitian earthquake happened and DU was full of posts about how it wasn't good enough.

The US is the richest nation so it might make sense we don't get foreign aid. I think we did at least get some sympathy after 911. And military help in our ill advised ventures from other countries that didn't have to join in.

When the US was generously attempting to save the world from communism, I suppose.

Merely stating a memory of a recording, if I recall correctly I heard the year I was concerned about my draft lottery number.

Thank you canadians, very nice gesture for you to finish the anthem for us. In my heart you are forgiven for the last time you boo'd our anthem.

Better than I.

I have this visceral negative reaction to the star spangled banner; I wouldn't help sing it. I'll usually stand for it out of a sense of tolerance for those around me, and wariness about their reaction to not standing, but not always.

Still, their sense of sportsmanship was heartwarming.
