Section of the Federal Code that deals with the markings of toy, look-alike, and imitation firearms

Disclaimer: I am not taking a position on what happened recently in Cleveland or on RKBA. The sole purpose of this thread is to point readers in the direction of the section of the Federal Code that deals with the markings of toy, look-alike, and imitation firearms.

Hat tip to that wellspring of legal knowledge, eBay: Is it illegal to remove the orange tip from my Airsoft?

The language for Airsoft gun orange markings comes from Title 15 of the Code of Federal Regulations: (Commerce and Foreign Trade) PART 1150—MARKING OF TOY, LOOK-ALIKE AND IMITATION FIREARMS.

Do a Google search for the entire preceding phrase which appeared in bold (above), then look for the heading "ELECTRONIC CODE OF FEDERAL REGULATIONS". (eBay rules do not allow me to include a direct link to the regulation)

I'll save you some time:

I can see how seeing a weapon such Airsoft with the orange change a less harmful situation into a very serious and dangerous one. I wish NRA would devote energy into safety as it foes in lobby and twisting arms and probably less lives would be lost.
