Boston Bruins goalie Tim Thomas passed on meeting with President Obama last year. He couldn't miss the president's face last night.

Thomas protested when his Stanley Cup winning teammates went to the White House, saying the federal government had threatened the rights and liberties of its citizens.

So Capitals fans reminded him of his "free citizen" rights by peppering the Verizon Center with posters and masks with the president's face on them.

The Bruins lost because the Caps goalie Holtby played phenom tonight.

Politics aside, can we not be stupid about this sort of thing?
