(7,759 posts)the justice system and the political party in control of our Congress all seem to be powerful forces against blacks, especially young black males. Sure, there are some bad actors out there among young black males but you only hear and read about them. There are millions of others who are just trying to be decent citizens but you will not read about them or see their faces spread across the TV screens on the nightly news.

(10,893 posts)backwards-minded people seem to outnumber tolerant folks almost everywhere on the Internet. You go on Redditt, it seems to be like that. On YouTube, on Yahoo, MSN, sports forums, CNN, and so on. The only places that come to mind where they haven't already taken over are here, CrooksandLiars, and MediaMatters.

It dismaying and appalling that there's so much rampant racism everywhere on the net. And it often comes from people who always say that it isn't racist. So sad.
I remain grateful for DU and the many good people here. Though a lot of them can at times appear insensitive or mean or like they have a stick up their ass, at least they are better than most other places on the net, lol.
Hope you enjoy a good evening and a good tomorrow as well, Jamaal510.

(53,521 posts)On the Internet they don't have to fear negative consequences from society for a being racist and sexist pig.
Also, in some circles people find it edgy and "non-conformist" to be "un-PC".

(9,350 posts)One of the right wingers in the post claimed Democrats were unwilling to accept the "facts" of the case. If Darren Wilson had been indicted he and the rest of the people in the OP would be the main people saying the grand jury had come to the wrong decision. The are only willing to accept the "facts" of this case because the decision went in their favor.

Brit Hume has a new standard for our discourse: If you accuse someone of racism, you've cheapened the argument.
On Fox's Special Report with Bret Baier on Friday, he joined the chorus of Fox anchors decrying even the possibility that racism might be behind some of the vitriol that's been directed at President Obama.
Hume: Well, I think over time, it cheapens the charge. And I think in this instance, with all that we've heard and with all the instances cited in James Rosen's report, this is going to infuriate the people of good will who are resisting President Obama and not in any way because of his race but because of his policies. And my guess is, it has real backfire potential, which diminishes to some extent the consensus on race in America.
And what consensus on race is that, Brit? The Fox version?

(28,270 posts)There is no disputing that fact. Fox network is their bullhorn and wall street, the Koch bros and dirty vegas casino money are the bank roll.
These people are the main danger to freedom and democracy in the USA first and then, well who knows? We fight endless wars overseas while our rights and freedom are taken away day after day by these nazis and their militarized police forces.
And while they are busy killing and oppressing the poor, the sick, the hungry, the non white, they are wrapped in the flag and carrying (burning) crosses!
But hey, it couldn't happen here right?
Right?........

170 of limbaugh's 600 stations depend on 70+ major college sports programs that should be getting out of the business of excusing and promoting racism for the GOP.
the only reason the missouri GOP had the confidence to push mcculloch to let him off was they know they own the state and much of the country through republican radio.

Ferguson fallout: Ben Carson says race relations worse as Obama, liberals manipulate minorities
November 26, 2014
Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson didnt do anything wrong when he shot and killed Michael Brown but could have had better training in other techniques to handle the fateful August encounter, potential 2016 Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson said Tuesday.
Retired neurosurgeon and West Palm Beach resident Carson, who is black, also told syndicated conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt that race relations in America have worsened under President Barack Obama.
I actually believe that things were better before this president was elected. And I think that things have gotten worse because of his unusual emphasis on race, Carson said.
Carson also faulted Obama for the way he and a bunch of progressives manipulate, particularly minority communities, to make them feel that they are victims. And of course if you think youre a victim, you are a victim.
