Have you googled "Black Friday alternative" ?

Last edited Wed Nov 26, 2014, 12:54 PM - Edit history (1)

I vaguely remember seeing a post on DU last year about people planning outings to local/state parks as an alternative to the brainwashed-consumer madness of Black Friday. It's going to be pretty cool here on Friday, but it might be the last chance to go on an outing before Winter really sets in. I'd even go for a short hike, but can't take Mother along.

What would you plan to do as your Black Friday alternative ?

Northern Florida, temps in the mid 60's, sunny day forecast.

I have teen daughters, it's good to pull them away from their electronic devices as much as possible.

My hospital is having a holiday event. We're packaging up grooming supplies. Providing hot showers. Clothes washer and driers to wash clothes flu shots and meal for homeless people.

Whatever it is, be conspicuously absent from the madding crowd.
