Tens of thousands without power in Maine

http://www.cnn.com/2014/11/27/us/maine-weather-power-outages/index.html?c=homepage-t

From the article:

At one point, as many as 110,000 customers were without power on Thanksgiving morning, but by 2 p.m., Central Maine Power Co. reported that 65,200 customers had no power, while Emera, the state's second-largest utility company, reported 2,500 customers without electricity.

One thing you learn in New England is to have a secondary source of heat. One you can also cook on is preferable.

It's something I carried through here in NM, where a small wood stove occupies a corner of the living room.

The Turkey was in the oven, the snow was falling, and the power went out, all over Western part of the state.
That wood stove came in handy.
No problem cooking the vegies on it, but since I had no oven, stove top turkey parts was not quite as much fun as oven turkey.

Most of our town is without power and we've been told it might be days. I'm so grateful for our 30 year old generator!
