http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2014/nov/27/renewable-energy-overtakes-nuclear-as-scotlands-top-power-sourceRenewable energy in Scotland from wind farms, hydro power plants and other clean technologies provided the single largest source of electricity to the country for the first time, in the first half of 2014, new industry figures will show on Thursday.
Analysis by the trade body Scottish Renewables shows that renewables produced nearly one third more power than nuclear, coal or gas in the first six months of the year, generating a record 10.4 terawatt hours (TWh) during the six-month period.

(103,856 posts)of free & clean energy.. I know it costs up front to set up the mechanism to use it, but why not just do it, and then reap the benefits forever...
I would prefer to hire people to monitor/repair/modify clean systems than to hire people to dig for coal/explore for oil/frack the planet to death..
The sad thing is that most people just want things to work when they plug something in or flip a switch/...they must be educated so the want to use clean energy..

(103,856 posts)I stated it in-artfully ...............mea culpa
Of course our media always focuses on how expensive it is to switch, instead of taking the time to explain how important it is for the future.

(4,876 posts)I have seen people here adamant about how safe nuclear power is and how clean energy just isn't feasible..
And now that it has been proven wrong, it will be "well it's not feasible for America"
