But poor, poor darren wilson, murderer, had to leave his lawn half mowed because he got a call that his life was in danger and now he has to stay in hiding, the poor thing.
I'm not moved and I don't care what darren wilson is going through because Mike Brown doesn't get another chance at life.
(My response to CNN's attempt to victimize newlywed wilson because he has to lead an inconvenient life now.)

(14,524 posts)Though my hope is that, since this dirtbag has no conscience, the fear of reprisals for his crime will do the job.

(5,946 posts)I wish people will stop paying him - the million he has now seems like a lot, but if you sit down and look at it a million is not going to last forever, you have to work sometime. Especially if you just start sending it
note - spent too much time looking at how lottery winners go bankrupt.
It will last you a life time if you invest it and live modestly. few people really do that, gotta have that fancy car can't live in an ordinary apartment or house, child support. At some point the evil that Darryl does will catch up to him.

(17,997 posts)Wish I believed in it.
He will make much more before he starts to fade from view. I am sure there's a movie in the works. Probably a book or two.

(13,141 posts)I'm sure the store owners don't want any kind of reprisals
and are being wise.
But the video doesn't show anything except somebody
who looks very much like Mike, and his friend Dorian,
Mike's buying something at the counter, and for some
reason somebody is blocking his exit.
It definitely does look like them in the video but as
has been said a brazillion times already, it means nothing
in regards to the murder.

(546 posts)A young man who is guilty of some minor transgression comes into contact with the police:
- He might have learned the name of the policeman. The cop might have learned the kid's name.
- He might learn that even a small transgression can have consequences for himself and others
- He might have even made amends with the shop owner and they become friends.
- He might have used the sidewalk next time, having been reminded that he or others could get hurt from his walking in the street.
- He might have learned that the system can work to everyone's benefit and come to believe in it.
Contact with the police might have been the first step a positive experience.
Instead, the kid is dead. In this case, it's because the cops don't seem to believe in fairy tales.

(1,043 posts)tends to preclude a friendly outcome. Or do you think Wilson tried to pull him in through the car window? Fairy tale indeed.

(17,651 posts)Guess what?!
We do not know and, will probably never know because the liklihood of a fair, impartial jury trial will not occur.
The process, from initial confrontation to the ridulousness of the GJ findings, are TAINTED.
noiretextatique
(27,275 posts)that's the part of wilson's self-serving, racist fairy tale that doesn't make a damn bit of sense. he wasn't some murder suspect; at most, he might have been guilty of petty theft...IF that even happened. so...why in the fuck would he reached for the gun, except perhaps to try to stop wilson from shooting him.

(47,138 posts)Look, Brown was enrolled in college, you saying that humans don't do stupid shit like steeling cigars when they are still in their teen years? He was immature and engaged in risky behavior like so many others. And he also big and pushed his weight around. But you are stretching the facts to fit some story that only works if you believe Darren Wilson.
IdaBriggs
(10,559 posts)There is more evidence that Wilson is corrupt (based on getting fired for it) than that this teen on his way to college was a thug.
But it is hard to convince a racist of this viewpoint, and you seem to have similar views as they do, so I won't bother trying.
Not saying you are a racist, of course. You just post like one.

Thespian2
(2,741 posts)If this represents your idea of thinking, you need more work on using your brain. How can you call Michael Brown a thug? How long have you known him? How in Hell can you foresee the future of a young man whose future was determined by a police man who was determined to kill him? And who cares if you marched for civil rights if you don't understand them? I walked behind the coffin of Martin Luther King, Jr. in Atlanta. Does that give me any special knowledge or special place? No.

(8,101 posts)I marched in Jackson Mississippi and was horrified that black men couldn't look me in the face but had to look at the ground. But had a gun held to my head by two black thugs and this kid really brought back the ptsd of that event with video of him accosting store owner he was stealing from. Just saying wish there was a better poster child than him.
ScreamingMeemie
(68,918 posts)Thug? If kids on their way to college are now "thugs," we're in a hell of a lot more trouble than I thought.

Michael Brown just happened to be the last straw where the majority of Americans said
WE ARE SICK OF THIS SHIT! And We are NOT going to take it anymore.
What happened to Tamir Rice is adding even more anger and disgust.
ScreamingMeemie
(68,918 posts)... a "story" will come out about Tamir cheating on a test or shaking down a kid for lunch money, and he'll be a thug in the eyes of even some posters here. The victim always becomes the defendant in these stories.
