Severance packages are typically reserved for executive positions like City Manager. Assuming Ferguson is like any other police force, he walked away with vacation accrual. If he was there long enough to be vested into the pension system, he'll walk away with that, too.

How many employees get canned immediately when they screw up, and get no unemployment, no severance, no nothing..

He killed an unarmed kid, and basically got a 3 month paid vacation..

I have NO doubt that his bosses have put out feelers for him so he can get another policing job somewhere when this all dies down..
