Want to know why Sen. Mark Pryor voted against the Buffett Rule?

Dear Sinkingfeeling,

Thank you for contacting me regarding S. 2230, the Paying a Fair Share Act of 2012. I appreciate hearing from you.

S. 2230 would require taxpayers with an Adjusted Gross Income over $1 million to pay at least a 30 percent minimum tax rate, with a phase-in of this rate for taxpayers with incomes between $1 million and $2 million. On April 16, 2012, this legislation fell short (51-45) on a procedural vote of receiving the necessary 60 votes for further consideration. After much thought, I was not able to support this bill.

There is no disputing that the wealthy should pay their fair share in taxes. However, I believe this inequity should be fixed as part of comprehensive tax reform, not as a political ploy meant to score points. A serious, bipartisan effort to reform the tax code could pass Congress and be signed into law, ensuring that employees no longer write larger checks to Uncle Sam than their CEOs.

Please know I have taken note of your concerns, and I will be sure to keep them in mind as I work with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to address this issue.

Again, thank you for contacting me. I value your input. Please do not hesitate to contact me or my office regarding this or any other matter of concern to you.

Sincerely,

Mark Pryor
United States Senate

And now I know even less than I did before. Is English Mr. Pryor's first language? Because he sounds like an imbecile.

The only political ploy meant to score points where all the republicans (and Pryor, a closeted republican) voted against this bill in order to please their corporate masters.

His letter fails to explain how he gave the matter "much consideration". Obviously he held his finger up to the wind and determined that he could score much more in campaign contributions (or "bribes" as they are known to anybody with half a brain) by pandering to rich people who have more to give than poor people.

BTW I had never heard of this dweeb until I saw him in the Bill Maher movie about religion. He proved then that he was a fucking moran with his talk about creationism and his actions this week only underscore that.
