I tend to be wary of one-trick pony advocacy like this.

Now why did you think you needed to post it on DU? Because it reads like a bad attempt at starting a flamewar.

The reason is that it comes across as being pro-woman and then it seems to criticize the actress over her personal choices. I have a strong interest in propaganda styles. So no, not into flame wars but rather I am interested in people's analysis to see if they feel the same.

this until after I hit send.

Yes, perhaps we agree that we can all disagree about aspects of porn and other things, but finger-pointing at her personal choices is out of bounds.

Not to mention questionable at best, from a feminist standpoint.

the author is presuming that she (or he) is the one true arbiter of what a healthy relationship is.

There are amazingly enough, a fair number of relationships where couples enjoy porn together. Even learn a few things from it. Men, of course, tend to be more visually stimulated and quite naturally react to it, often to the increased pleasure of women in their company. (And often to the intense displeasure of women not in their company, who might be better off minding their own business.)

While Ms Lawrence has certainly been violated by her personal pictures being put out in public, she has been every bit as violated by pusillanimous Puritans declaring how she should live her private life.

The context of their letter truly appears to be blaming her for her personal choices and essentially saying she is part of the problem.

And the mere fact that something like the Feminist Porn Awards exists, attests to the fact that this is far from a black-and-white issue.
