so..... who's lying?

St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar sent an e-mail to his staff saying the Rams' chief operating officer called him Monday to apologize.

"I received a very nice call this morning from Mr. Kevin Demoff of the St. Louis Rams who wanted to take the opportunity to apologize to our department on behalf of the Rams for the "Hands Up" gesture that some players took the field with yesterday," Belmar wrote in the e-mail, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

But the Rams said that's just not true.
"We did not apologize," Rams spokesman Artis Twyman told CNN.

A St. Louis Rams official reached out to local police Monday, a day after five players from the team entered their home field with their arms raised in support for nearby Ferguson, drawing the ire of law enforcement.

But Rams Chief Operating Officer Kevin Demoff and police officials disagree over whether Demoff’s efforts amounted to an apology.

Demoff says he did not apologize for the players’ actions.

badly any statement made by the Rams would have been twisted into an apology.

I don't know. I'm not prone to believing any cops right now.

They painted themselves in a corner. When even Cowheard is trashing you on ESPN radio then you know your crying is only touching the hearts of the trashiest of racists. Time to declare victory and run and hide. It sounds like the they're doing just that.

My guess is that one side believes what was said does amount to an apology, and the other side doesn't.

is lying. He got one of those sorry you are offended apologies. We all know that is not an apology. I bet this backfires on him big time.

I've had a few regrets in this life, but personal introspection doesn't equal an apology.

Until Ferguson police cough up the audio from the phone call, I'll consider this to be just another lie from the STLPD.
