Hillarious! Morning Whoa is trying to change his tune in the first

three minutes of his show because of the rating decline. His guest are Roland Martin, Marc Morial, and a moderate. Where are his kiss butt boys for his usual opening? Guess what, Joe? It won't work. You are still scummy.

with police to keep your hands on the wheel etc? But no one seemed to find it odd that Martin was saying it was BECAUSE he is Black. Joe just nodded his head like it was perfectly normal to have to tell your black children that.

Don't go fishing for your papers before the cop comes to your car. Have the window rolled down and the radio off.

When the cop gets to your door and asks for papers, tell him it is in the glove compartment or console or wherever and that you are reaching for it.

I am a honky and I do this. It is better than finding out the cop outside your car is a trigger happy asshole.

Learned this first hand.

My wife and I were going to drive on to a Marine installation a few years back. Although I had a current sticker on my car, the guard at the front gate asked for my id. It was in the back seat. I opened the door and started to get out to get my wallet. He immediately went for his weapon. Learned my lesson very quickly.

Maybe it impacts what tier of service they offer a channel/network with but it has no impact on ratings. Ratings are gathered by a 3rd party, they determine what advertising will go for and they determine whether a show has enough viewers in it's target demo to continue running.

Max Headroom: The series is set in a futuristic dystopia ruled by an oligarchy of television networks. Even the government functions primarily as a puppet state of the network executives, serving mainly to pass laws — such as banning "off" switches on televisions — that protect and consolidate the networks' power. Television technology has advanced to the point that viewers' physical movements and thoughts can be monitored through their television sets.

The "boxes" have indeed changed, but from their website: "...We measure viewing using our national and local people meters, which capture information about what’s being viewed and when, and in the major U.S. markets, specifically who and how many people are watching. We also have TV set meters in many local markets, and we collect more than two million paper diaries from audiences across the country each year during “sweeps”—specific periods during the months of February, May, July and November."

My SIL works for Neilsen, dealing with those paper diaries.

It should be scrapped entirely and a new, liberal morning news/talk show should replace it.

And I'd love it if such a program would not replay clips from Limbaugh, Hannity, et al. all the time like many of the evening programs do.

I'll bet it irritates him on some level that all the musical idols he's mentioned over the years are working in rock or pop-rock and he can only manage to do slow, twangy stuff with forgettable melodies and banal lyrics.
