Non-old timers. Were you aware?

After 911 and before that illegal, immoral Iraq war started there was a Peace March scheduled going downhilll from the Cathedral of St Paul to the Minnesota State Capital. Shortly after Senator Wellstone had been killed so it was renamed a Memorial March because he publicly opposed that war.

10,000 people, official estimate so you can add more, marched, sang and we felt we were part of something good and right. The press coverage was minimal. Similar marches were held all over the US but the steam roller was already in motion.

I haven't felt that unifying spirit until now and I hope this time that that spirit prevails and things start to get better.

If you were not really into politics at the time were you aware of the Marches against the Iraq War?
