is a RW front group.

Anyone listed on Angies list best remove themselves fast else they will lose business very fast, well at least mine anyway.

9. Not worth it to me... I wanted a recommendation on car detailers...

Even in Denver, the selection for which there was any real information was extremely limited. Maybe auto detailers is not a major area or maybe other cities would have had more...

However, if you were remodeling or fixing up a house and needed all kinds of contractor kind of recommendations it might be ok or even extremely useful. As soon as I "subscribed" for the year, I saw it wasn't going to do much for me, but they send a zillion directories and other guides that might be useful. For me, it is really more junk mail. Frankly, I did it because they advertise on Thom Hartman and I thought, well, why not try it once. The price varies by locale... i think I had some promo discount too.

You can get your area's specfics here: http://my.angieslist.com/Angieslist/Visitor/ChapterSelection.aspx?u=/angieslist/visitor/price.aspx
I seem to recall paying somewhere around $25 or $30 for the year.

11. Unbeknownst to me they had set me up on auto-renewal

So, I had renewed in November (not noticing because of the holidays) and the fees were considerably higher than my initial sign up. I just called, cancelled, told them why and got some of my money refunded.

because the auto renewal was not mentioned in the original ad. Groupon refunded people's money and changed the wording. I hate those auto renewal things!

ads are ignorant and preachy. Like the workman who watches porn.

I don't really understand why anyone would pay for AL...when you
can find much of the same for free on yelp or google.

The person I spoke with was very nice professional, and was all too happy to do so and to transfer me afterwards to the marketing people to let them know how I felt.

I urge any other Angie's list people to do the same: here's the number: 1-888-888-LIST

I don't really use twitter or other social media, but for those DUers who do, would you PLEASE spread the word?

As to speak to the marketing department and leave a pointed message. 1-888-888-LIST

This is just so unacceptable.

Angie's List isn't merely running ads on Limbaugh's show; they have stronger connection, they're paying Rush to be an "endorser."

17. Angie's List either never stopped advertising when they said they did, or resumed advertising

They had been an advertiser on his show, but in March they said they were not "currently advertising" there--which may not have been true:
