My mother passed away December 4th.

she had been ill for a while and we about lost her last year

Her funeral will be on Monday

The last good conversation with my mother, I asked her if she was scared. She said "NO are you? I told her no, I knew I was going to heaven. She said that's good. I then asked her what the first thing she was going to do when she got to heaven. She said "I'm going to kiss our Lord Jesus Christ, find your daddy and eat an orange" Then she reached up and stroked my hair. Told me she loved me.

27. I am so sorry to hear this...

I just brought my 93 year old Mom home from 2 weeks in the hospital (for a heart "event&quot yesterday.

It's so hard (when my Dad passed suddenly in 1998) and words don't heal all...but know we are all here and like Omaha Steve says, take that time to grieve and for yourself. Nothing heals a loss but I found time helps.

Again, my sincere thoughts are with you.

I'm still getting used to it. Like you, my mom had been sick for about a year and it wasn't unexpected, but you are never ready. I was just glad that she didn't suffer at the end, and I thank Hospice for that.

It left a hole in my heart that nothing can fill. I think of her virtually every day and remember how she taught me the essence of why being a liberal was the only moral choice. In that sense, she lives on thru me.
