to prove that he really meant the apology he gave John Kerry for Colson's dirty tricks against him in the 1970s - including siccing O'Neil on him. Compared to the many things he apologized for, those actions were not the worst, but they are the ONLY ones where he could have made his apology real. He didn't he joined those attacking Kerry in 2004.

This makes me think his "awakening" was all a way to regain the respect of many people - he was in in it for himself.

Did he stand witness for Kerry - telling the truth that the WH trashed him in the 1970s. He actually had a real chance to prove his regrets were sincere.

His organization was not a good thing, however; typical religious-right with links to such organizations as Alliance Defence Fund (which has been poking its nasty nose into Britain and collaborating with some of our homegrown Christian Righties), and Focus on the Family.
