Obama: The vast majority of cops are doing a really tough job, and most of them are doing it well,

and are trying to do the right thing.

"The vast majority of law enforcement officers are doing a really tough job, and most of them are doing it well and are trying to do the right thing,” Obama said during a one-on-one interview with BET Networks that aired Monday.

station, brought the evidence with me, and they said all the officers were out and I'd have to speak with an officer to file a report. They gave me the name of the investigator "assigned to my case" and I called 5 times and left voice messages. No response.

The system is fucked and needs to be rebuilt from the ground up. It seems to me like the primary purpose of the police forces are to protect the wealth of the haves and to extort revenue out of the have-nots.

Whether they're trying to do the right thing is beside the point. The vast majority of them are complicit in abuse by looking the other way thus they are guilty themselves. Unconscious racism plays a role in their interactions as well, so their intention is not the sole consideration when we're talking about systems wide problems.

Politicians always say meaningless bits like this, though. Whatever.

Once I see the majority of the police demand the bad apples be thrown out then I will believe the majority are good, but as long as they allow the abuses to continue and protect the "bad apples" from accountability then they are all bad apples.
