My dear friend who was raped (by her masseur!) just broke up with her male partner

of seven years, and has taken up with a woman. The fact that my friend uses a wheelchair may well have convinced the rapist he would face no consequences for taking liberties with her.

The good news is, the rapist pled out to a lesser charge and has had his license suspended for three years, as well as having to register as a sex offender.

The bad news is, this particular outbreak of rape culture ended a relationship so deep the couple had a book about it published! And almost as bad, as if my own love life weren't nonexistent enough, I now have competition from him and his dazzling blue eyes!
