Hey Everybody, calm down and sleep easy tonight

It appears that Citigroup is going to be okay. I know it was touch and go for a while, but the big wigs there will not have to sell their G5's and carpool to the office, nor will they have to sell their 3rd or 4th or vacation homes.

Sleep tight y'all, someone's looking out for them. God bless us, everyone.

One thing that has been a puzzle for me: These banks and stock trading companies produce no goods or services to the general public, yet, the general public is asked, no required, to indemnify them against any losses whatsoever. So, my question is, if their assets are making so damned much money that they can afford million dollar bonuses to employees, why don't their banking customers DEMAND that they pay higher interest on deposits? After all, the bonus money is generated out of manipulation of deposits. So, why aren't the gains paid to depositors in the form of higher savings interest?

Guess the old adage is correct: Money makes money. Just not for the 99%.
