Homeowner Killed In No-Knock Drug Raid. No Drugs Found. Shot in the head and back.

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2014/12/11/1351113/-Homeowner-Killed-In-No-Knock-Drug-Raid-No-Drugs-Found-Shot-in-the-head-and-back#

As it turns out, David Hooks was apparently face-down on the ground when he was murdered by the police, who were conducting what is known as a "no-knock raid". This is when the police are allowed to enter a person's home without the homeowner or primary occupant's permission....

A no-knock raid is one of those things that should clearly be outlawed for a number of reasons. Though it has been ruled legal by the courts, it's one of those things that clearly stretches to the breaking point the intent of our existing laws. Ultimately, it's just an excuse for the police to use their expensive military surplus weaponry and gear.

If a guilty person escapes the police or destroys evidence that could be used against them, this is a less bad outcome than an innocent man being killed by those same police. A no knock raid can never make sense. The overwhelming potential to make a bad outcome into a worse outcome can't be overcome.

I agree with others who have said that the police in America have lost their legitimacy. I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt and agree that these many tragic stories are the result of a few bad apples. It is increasingly difficult to afford them such benefits of doubt, however. Whether is (sic) is from disproportionately killing and/or harming unarmed black males to false accusations of a crime to these no-knock raids where men, women and even infant children end up maimed or dead. All of us increasingly have something to fear from the police in America, even if you're innocent. Far too many lives and families have been shattered and broken by this corrupt system. If it is a few bad apples, then they've unfortunately managed to ruin the whole batch.

And I'm surprised I haven't heard of a no-knock raid ending with such an armed homeowner shooting the cops.

Deputy Keith Ruiz
36 years old
Travis County, Texas
February, 2001
Ruiz was a husband and father who was a veteran of numerous SWAT raids. In the process of serving a drug warrant, he was trying to break down the door to a mobile home occupied by painter Edwin Delamora, his wife, and two young children. Confused by the raid at night, Delamora yelled to his wife that they were being robbed and shot through the door, killing Ruiz.

There are more horror stories on this website. Here's a link to the memorial for the victims.

Once reality starts to sink in that they aren't going to be able to make it all go away and just go to work the next day like nothing happened and it isn't a dream they realize they can either live or die.

probably why the police "freaked-out the 17 shots"

What would anyone do if their wife sees a car pull in the driveway and 8 'unknown' people rush towards the house and then bash-in the front door?

then they'll have to live with the knowledge that this kind of thing will happen on rare occasions, sadly.

I believe local law enforcement in the UK carries only batons, and that seems to work reasonably well. No reason it couldn't work here, too.

Of course you can have a special unit that is armed when required.

When police are armed it's like a person that only has a hammer and therefore everything looks like a nail.

Murdering families under the fake guise of protecting people is evil. They want people dealing drugs too so they can seize their money as the door revolves over and over. What would these poor police do without any drugs to be involved with? There literally is no need for them.

watch the woman's interview.

They made her sit outside in handcuffs for hours, her husband's corpse within sight on a stretcher. They completely trashed her house.

Their home had been robbed and a vehicle stolen several days prior. Since these cops pulled up in an unmarked car, wearing camo and civilian clothes, can any cop with a goddamn brain cell explain to me how they were supposed to KNOW they were being raided by cops and not thugs? Or are thugs and cops now one and the same? Has this Laurens County police force joined the Darkside?

They found meth in the couple's truck when they recovered it, and the thief - a meth head - made a deal and claimed he bought the drugs from Hooks.

As I have said before, the Georgia Drug Task Force operates like Judge Dredd meets Jethro Bodine. These are authoritarian dudes with god complexes so massive you just can not even fathom how much they love themselves until you have to deal with them.

They are NEVER wrong. They can do ANYTHING they want: FUCK the Constitution.

Because they are gods, they don't have to adequately research or investigate. Jesus led the meth-head TO them so that is a sign. And the addled judges sign off on warrants with no more probable cause than a stray booger that looked like a pot seed.

These same geniuses almost shot a man for growing okra, mistaking it for cannabis - Class 1 DUMBFUCKS with arsenals. Yipee.

You think I'm kidding.

They will keep you safe from drugs by killing you.

Seems they've tapped out the poor in Georgia. They've already got all of them in prison or on parole.

TL;DRWhat I came here to say is this: All of you pure suburbanites who have been untainted by the War on Drugs?

Well, I believe it's your turn. I think the cops know you all won't riot, which is a bonus.
