And YEAH, I saw the Abu Ghraib photos. YEAH, I've heard the accusations. YEAH, I've heard the excuses and bullshit. YEAH, I've read about this ever since the bush/cheney nightmare kicked this into high gear.
But it doesn't make these revelations now - any easier to stomach. It's like having an elderly relative who's going down long, slow, hard, and painful. You know the end is coming. You know nobody lives forever. You know their death will bring an end to their suffering. You know it's near. But still - when it actually comes, you're still at a loss. You're still knocked on your butt. You're still shoved off-balance.
Same here. Miserable - over what's happened to my country. It's just beyond discouraging sometimes.
