that's important for me to hear.

All across this country there are hundreds, if not thousands of intelligent people of vision who could actually contribute some substantive solutions to the plight we find ourselves in. Yet it's the same clowns, blabbering on, week after week.

Is Cokie Roberts still around? She's like fingernails on a blackboard.

through her rightousness so I could see and hear Keith Obermann.

I totally agree with you that there are far more intelligent people
across our nation who serve in stark contrast to the blubbering talking
heads.

I got sick of guests' license to lie with virtual impunity, which they regularly exercise. And I hate to see political hacks allowed to filibuster on and on so that there is no time left for opposing views to be heard.

Like you, I stopped watching or caring about a year ago.

I've written to MTP countless times complaining of their favoritism toward Republicans and the abysmal job of hosting by Gregory -- I know I am not alone, yet MTP doesn't change. So I don't watch it - in fact, I don't watch any Sunday morning shows. I'd rather tune in the Food Channel and work the crossword puzzles from the papers.
Up with Chris Hayes and the new show by Melissa Harris-Perry are worthwhile endeavors, devoting sufficient time to complex issues, with thoughtful discussion. But Current TV is not available in many areas.

A graduate of Castro Valley High School in Castro Valley, California, she attended Stanford University. While a freshman, she was outed by the college newspaper when an interview with her was published by the student newspaper before she could tell her parents.[15] Maddow earned a degree in public policy from Stanford in 1994.[16] At graduation she was awarded the John Gardner Fellowship. [17] She was also the recipient of a Rhodes Scholarship and began her postgraduate study in 1995 at Lincoln College, Oxford. In 2001, she earned a Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) in politics from Oxford University.[18] Her thesis is titled HIV/AIDS and Health Care Reform in British and American Prisons (supervisor: Dr Lucia Zedner). She was the first openly gay American to win a Rhodes scholarship.[19][20]

Her stellar ability and commitment to researching her subjects, alone, more than qualifies her....her education tops it all.

Meet the Press is a revolving door of the same-ole-same-ole and I got sick of the retreads long ago.

Can also FF through commercials, though of course I appreciate their advertisers (well, the ones that aren't Big Oil!).

Nothing but soundbites and softball questions. The show used to be hard hitting and directly to the point. Now it serves as little more than sound bites and agenda promoting garbage. The state of politics and what passes for news in this nation is disheartening.

It's always the same ReTHUGs and pet "Liberals" (who live in the beltway bubble) every damn week.

They had Mitch Daniels on, and instead of asking him why Indiana is so fucked up they played "Let me ask you again!" with him and his rumoured entry into the Clown Car.

"Press the Meat" and the rest of them are just FAUX NOIZ for people who think they are Thinkers.

of Democratic politicians allowed on are almost always Third Way types.

Add to that their nakedly biased technique of holding roundtable discussions on the news (on subjects the corporate press wants to talk about), where actual journalists are "balanced" without openly partisan right-wing columnists, and it all looks like a big joke.

Up until Keith Olbermann's appearance on "The Round Table" (?) this morning, I stopped watching these stale, stodgy "news" programs designed to keep the corporations happy years ago -- when I found out that what they were hawking went against my common sense.

Even what I saw this morning, in between the glints of pride in listening to what little Keith was allowed to say, I'm convinced these programs are not in the public's best informative interest.
