Texas is Promoting a War Criminal for President of University of Texas System

http://pagesix.com/2014/12/12/condoleezza-rice-front-runner-for-university-of-texas-president/

Condoleezza Rice is the front-runner to replace embattled William Powers as the next president of the University of Texas, alumni sources say.

Rice, who was secretary of state under President George W. Bush, has been a professor at Stanford University since leaving public service.

Her dream job was NFL Commissioner, but it doesn’t look like Roger Goodell is going anywhere — despite the Ray Rice scandal and the recent focus on players’ brain injuries.

The blood of 100,000 dead men, women and children on her hands.

Her head and heart is filled with torture and a cruel reckless disregard for human life that ultimately created ISIS.

The University of Texas is filling its leadership ranks with far right wing conservatives with deep ties into the military, CIA, NSA, etc.

By any measure of justice, she should be in prison for the rest of her life.

This is part of Perry's plan to continue the militarization the state's University system with far right wing authority types.

It is well known that Perry is at war with Austin for being too liberal. In fact, it was liberal Austin that put Texas on the map. Now that we made Austin interesting, conservatives have mounted a take over.

Austin is a shell of its former self - completely sold out to corporate interests. with $500,000 condos downtown bringing in people from California and a public school system that can't afford text books, and a city that can no longer afford to put on community events.

In August, the UT System confirmed UT alum and former Navy Adm. William McRaven as the group’s chancellor. In addition to being commander of the Special Operation Command, he spearheaded the operation to kill Osama Bin Laden. He took over this year for outgoing Chancellor Francisco Cigarroa.

What has happened to the city is very sad. So many old landmarks are gone. The small things - cafes and stores that we used to frequent. Who thought up back in slanted parking on Congress? I am glad we moved.

12. lol @ back-in slanted parking.... and all those $500K condos filled w/ yuppies from CA

and the city doesn't seem to have a dime to spend on schools, parks and public services. On a given day there must be ten hammerhead sky cranes downtown. And they have no construction ordinance downtown so those $500K condo owners get to listen to jackhammers and dump trucks 24/7!

What also cracks me up are the "Look at me! I'm so handsome/pretty!" self-absorbed joggers trying to look buff while looking very miserable along Caesar Chavez, sweating it out in 100+ deg weather, sucking down all that car exhaust... then buying a $12 salad at whole foods to make up for it.

Meanwhile, the State Government thinks the Earth is 6,000 years old and dinosaurs are a Disney creation.

Even SXSW has become a giant corporate circle jerk.

Looking for the day I can retire anywhere but Texas.

UT official: No front-runners for next university president

AUSTIN (KXAN) — On Friday, the New York Post claimed the front-runner for the next president of the University of Texas at Austin is former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. However, officials say not so fast. According to a spokeswoman for the University of Texas System, there are no front-runners right now, because the Board of Regents aren’t at that point in the process. They also can’t confirm Rice is a candidate.

It could just be a rumor to test reactions, or it could be true. I believe Karl Rove was handed a trustee position on the Texas Parks and Wildlife board.

For those interested in learning how oil and war and big profits go together, an outstanding report from Forbes:

Message from Condoleezza Rice to Ukraine:

"The World is Watching You"

Katya Soldak
Forbes, 9/19/2012

Recently, Condoleezza Rice, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, Gordon Brown, Ukrainian president Victor Yanukovych and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Erdogan congregated at Livadia Palace in Southern Ukraine, the summer retreat of the last Russian tsar, Nicolas II—a Renaissance style building on the top of a hill, with the Black Sea rolling below. The same place as where Theodore Roosevelt, Winston Churchill and Joseph Stalin met at their famed Yalta conference of 1945.

The difference is that back then the rulers of the powerful countries met to make real decisions about the world’s future. This past weekend, Rice, and other guests of the 9th annual Yalta European Strategy meeting came to share their thoughts about the world’s challenges. Discussions today could influence policymakers and lead to making tomorrow’s decisions.

Among the matters discussed were the economic future of Europe and the role of the United States in dealing with economic and political issues of today. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian theme continued throughout the two-day conference. The government imprisoned former prime minister and opposition leader, Yulia Tymoshenko, and this has drawn criticism by the West; Ukraine tightens conditions for independent media and freedom of speech; the parliamentary elections coming up this October have already caused concerns among democratic observers on the subject of fairness and transparency.

Condoleezza Rice made it clear in her speech that the world is interested in Ukraine and is carefully watching all its developments: “Country like Ukraine with consolidation of democracy is watched carefully,” she said. Rice emphasized the importance of freedom of speech and free elections. “If Ukraine speaks in one voice, this voice would be heard.”

SNIP...

Indeed, the 9th annual Yalta conference – by many opinions, one of the best international platforms for discussions among high-profile politicians and innovative thinkers – is organized by Ukrainian billionaire Victor Pinchuk’s foundation and is taking place in Ukraine at a time when European leaders have recently boycotted the Euro 2012 soccer championship over Tymoshenko’s arrest and detainment. The fact that American politicians like Condoleezza Rice and Britain’s Gordon Brown attended, can’t be attributed to good relationships between Ukrainian and Western governments.

In retrospect, it appears the Neocons -- the axis of Wall Street and Secret Government -- have stayed on top the entire time. And, like their ilk did to Iran in 1953, the Ukraine Operation will not benefit the American people as a whole. It will benefit the owners of Big Oil and Condoleeza Rice.
