She's awesome. We are so lucky to have her voice.
She's on a book tour. This date sold out almost immediately. I got there 30 minutes early and had to park 3 blocks away.
She was really funny. She made a couple cracks about Sam Brownback and Kris Kobach.
Can't wait to read her book.
Thank you Rachel.

(63,900 posts)It would be so nice and I would go in a heartbeat!
But I think it would take an Act of Yale to do that...

(29,050 posts)I was supposed to see her, had tickets, but got SICK with a sore throat
Pain so bad, had to go to "doc in the box" urgent care center.
I'm okay now (antibiotics, etc.) but just hoping I can at least
get her autographed book, as it was included in the ticket price.

(51,545 posts)Every time I watch her I think, man I can't believe she is on TV talking like this. Do the corporate execs know what she's saying? I wonder when they're going to fire her?
But she keeps showing up each night. Thank goodness. I guess the execs care more about ratings than loyalty to their class--and I hear she has great ratings.

(492 posts)Can't begin to describe how effortlessly she talks with such ease and understanding of any topic. She truly does a wonderful job of taking complex issues and explaining them in "layman's terms". Absolute treasure!!!

(96,793 posts)she was wonderful. She talked to us at each commercial break and explained what they were going to do next. She really connected to the crowd.

(54,256 posts)She does a pretty good job of explaining how (and why) we got from a 'militia' citizen/civilian-soldier nation who answered a call-to-arms only when absolutely necessary to a 'professional' standing army on a 24-7 war footing.
I think she's especially good on the Iran-Contra scandal that should have been but wasn't.
Ancient history for most of you, but I was in my 40s and had a hard time grasping exactly what was happening. I'm now convinced that Reagan should have been impeached for his role.
She presents his 'invasion' of Grenada as the comic opera that it was, worthy of Gilbert & Sullivan.
The real zinger: 19 American soldiers killed...17 BY FRIENDLY FIRE.
Oh, brother.

(96,793 posts)He gives the stats of friendly fire. That's how we lose most of our soldiers who die in combat.

(1,721 posts)Dyncorp's use of underage sex-slaves was disgusting. Another way the US is losing hearts & minds around the globe.
