If Elizabeth Warren ever becomes President, one thing is for sure.

She will have to compromise with Rethugs, over and over again, because that's part of the job. And progressives will scream about how she's betrayed them, returned to her Rethug roots, etc. etc.

She knows all this. Maybe she's not running because she doesn't want to put up with the attacks that would come at her from all sides.

They are looking for a new Messiah, and put all their eggs in the Presidency basket, and insist Congress should simply rubber stamp what some amazing inspiring leader does. Maybe they should think twice about what they are asking for.

Congress is where the bills are passed, and if she did not have a congress that would actually help her get her agenda passed, well it would be no different than the last 6 years. As long as republicans control one branch of congress they will fight her, obstruct, and do the same things they did with president Obama.

One thing I am sure of is that many of the same bunch that now bash Obama on a daily basis, will also do the same no matter what democrat is elected, simply because there is no person on this earth that can satisfy the purist test the put on all politicians.

6. So any candidate would have to compromise his values before he would be able to get elected.

I remember how DUers during the 08 primary thought Obama could do no wrong.

I always support the Dem candidate because I think the Repub would be so much worse.

But there were a lot of people who became DUers who did not support Gore in 2000. They thought Nader was the more progressive candidate. I did not agree.

It's interesting to me that Gore won the popular vote and would have been President if people had not elected Reagan and Bush I, who appointed the justices who gave the election to Bush II.

She would be the first woman President of the United States without the notation "Preceded in the presidency by her husband."

Because, of course, our history books reflect that George Washington was our first "man" president not "Proceeded (sic) in the presidency by his wife".

I haven't seen a whole lot of compromise, but a helluva lot of capitulation. A good deal is when both parties walk away with some dissatisfaction, not when one side walks away and brags that he got 98% of what he wanted.

House and Senate. Then she would not have to compromise. However after the Rs get trough obstructing the vote in the next two years we will be lucky if we get to vote.
