Go ahead, conservatives, I believe you were saying something deluded and hilarious about there being a "liberal media" . . .

(692 posts)It's not the best way to go about governing our society, but it is at least a reasoned and well thought-through philosophy of governance. Republicans are just uncomfortable with that.

Okay, he's against the drug war. FINE, that's a good point. He thinks we should be less entangled in foreign conflicts, okay. The war part, yes. The withdrawing from the international community altogether? Whoa whoa whoa. No thanks, pal. I know the UN is essentially powerless, but it's something that can be worked with. (That's the biggest problem with the right as a whole. They see a problem with something, and they want to amputate it altogether, rather than trying to improve it. People scamming welfare? DESTROY WELFARE! It's a "throw the baby out with the bathwater" philosophy that's going to bring us back to the stone age.)
Ending the Fed? Maybe. Personally, I'd like to see it nationalized.
Going back to the gold standard? LOLNO. The last line on this article actually made me laugh out loud. Like, literally LOL.

I could go on and on. Seriously, like even if he isn't a racist, and someone else wrote those things in his newsletter. How can we trust him to be responsible for running the gov't when he can't run a newsletter to crazy people?! But he is racist. Or just naive. Because he thinks that federal laws attempting to combat racism and inequality are overstepping authority, are ineffective, and breed racism and inequality. While the last part may be true, I'm sure there are more places in this country where they would embrace being able to fire/not hire someone based on whatever reason they want. Maybe in another two hundred years, I don't know. (Although, one of my bosses is an Asian female, and the other is a gay Black man. Eat it, statistics. I know that's an anomoly, though, so don't jump on me for it.)
I do admire one thing about him, and I guess it's because I'm lazy and like to see how other people indulge their laziness. He is essentially running for president in order to minimize federal government and leave more decisions up to the states. So, he wants to get the job, and shift about 80% of the workload onto someone else's agenda. Bravo, Grampa. Bravo.
