Fox News Goes Dark for Dish Network Subscribers

Fox News, the most-watched U.S. cable news network, went off the air for Dish Network Corp. (DISH:US) subscribers after the parties failed to reach a new fee agreement.

Fox Business also went dark as the result of the latest dispute between programmers and Dish, which has 14 million subscribers. CBS Corp. (CBS:US) pulled its flagship network briefly from Dish on Dec. 5 before reaching a long-term accord restoring service a few hours later.

His girlfriend had mono so he had to go without. When George stopped having sex, his IQ shot thru the roof.

Think about what might happen to all those right-wing Dish Network owners......

When they think they are worth more than cable & satellite companies (usually the latter) than they are offering they'll do this. One or the other will either fall to the other's offer or demand or meet more in the middle.

When Directv announced they had no plans to carry the SEC Network -- the outrage, you wouldn't believe it which was encouraged by the SEC Network through social media to complain but they should have been more mad at the media consolidation taking place than providers.

I had Dish. I liked it much better than the Time Warner which I have now. But Dish was forever negotiating with the various networks. I lost The Big Ten Network for a time. Then I lost my local CBS affiliate.

But Time Warner is just flat out horrible. Apparently my community has a special agreement with Time Warner because they are our only cable choice. I bet that little agreement amounted to bribery.

I am familiar with Direct TV because family members have it. Direct might be my next option.

No more corporate government media brainwashing on Dish. Well CNN still does but nothing in the scale of FOX. What's crazy to me are the sheep that defend FOX News.

We do not have Fuk news on our cable. It does come in on satellite from the US. The "Fuk" network north, Sun, lost its battle on the national level to be forcefully included on cable networks. Fortunately, the businesses here on PEI do not have Fuk on every moment of the day, so that one is not exposed to garbage while sitting in a waiting room.

One of the pluses of living in the Maritimes.

Wonder if there's been some consumer pressure on Dish Network. Right now I usually get two mailings a week from Dish Network and if there was ever a prepaid return envelope they'd get a "Dump Fox News" message.

I only recently learned that Fox is a basic channel on most cable and satellite subscriptions. That explained the vast numbers of fools in this country . . . to a point.

Now my receiver was flakey early this morning before it updated itself, showing guide info that it was on ESPN when it was actually showing BBCA channel content. Wonder if that was due to them chopping out Fox channels at that time.

But RWers don't depair! You still have Glen Beck on the Blaze on channel 212! I wouldn't notice if that got pulled either though.

Perhaps if they bring Faux back they take it off of the basic tier of channels and put it on a higher tier like a lot of cable systems do with MSNBC...

There is no available cable where we live.... too sparsely populated road. I would never have known that Fox "News" was not on if I had not read this. You can choose lists to show and it does not appear unless you go to the All Channels list.... it won't disappear, I tried. I also do not see any shopping or religious channels, it is quite a nice system for that.
