Repub party large donor to Rick Scott's inauguration bash.
More Than $500,000 Has Been Raised for Rick Scott's Inauguration
Rick Scott may be having a scaled-back inauguration this time around, but that doesn't mean donors aren't still writing big checks for the event. More than $500,000 has been given to the Republican Party of Florida for the festivities.
The RPOF has rolled in $513,000. According to CBS Miami, $100,000 came from the Florida Insurance council. Another $90,000 was given by sugar growers Florida Crystals Corporation.
Scott Holdings also kicked in another $100,000. Despite the similar names, that company is not affiliated with Rick Scott himself. Instead its run by Steven M. Scott, a Boca Raton doctor who owns the medical investment company. That Scott is now chair of the University of Florida board of trustees.
The total amount is still smaller than the $3 million that was spent on Scott's first inauguration. http://blogs.miaminewtimes.com/riptide/2014/12/more_than_500000_has_been_raised_for_rick_scotts_inauguration.php
