"You don’t go to a James Brown concert and not know it’s James Brown.”

* AND THE QUOTE OF THE DAY, SCALISE-DIDN’T-KNOW-NOTHING EDITION: It comes courtesy of Corey Otis, a member of the white supremacist European-American Unity and Rights Organization, which Rep. Scalise spoke to while unaware (he claims) of what it stood for:

“Everybody there knew EURO was putting it on, and David Duke was the national president of EURO. You don’t go to a James Brown concert and not know it’s James Brown.”

The Know-Nothing Party, also known as the American Party, was a prominent United States political party during the late 1840s and the early 1850s. The American Party originated in 1849. Its members strongly opposed immigrants and followers of the Catholic Church.

Sounds a lot like the Tea Baggers and with them becoming more unhappy with Pope Francis they will probably become increasingly anti-Catholic as well.

"Duke’s spokesperson said he could not possibly have known that a group led by a former KKK leader like David Duke was a racist organization, and if he did would have never appeared as an honored guest and speaker. Scalise is as much liar as he is racist. The propaganda from the white supremacist group boasted that the “national convention” was a convergence of ideas represented by Americans concerned over the increasingly diminishing view of individual liberty for whites. After the conference, EURO boasted that “the meeting was productive as Representative Steve Scalise discussed ways to oversee gross mismanagement of ‘slush funds’ that have little or no use,” and “brought into sharp focus the dire circumstances pervasive in under-funded needs of the community at the expense of graft within the Housing and Urban Development Fund (HUD): a give-away to a selective group based on race.”
