The 10 (11?) worse moments of disrespect towards President Obama

Granted, these moments occurred from 2009 to 2012. Can we add more for 2013 and 2014?

(There are two "4s" on this list)--

1. The birther fiasco (2009-2011).
2. “You lie” (Sept. 2009).
3. Signs of the Tea Party (July 2010) and Naked Racism (April 2011).
4. Donald “unchecked ego” Trump inflames birther fiasco, media assists (April 2011).
4. Deadbeat dad and probable one-termer thinks his presence before the President actually matters and needs to tell everyone (Sept 2011).
5. Newt Gingrich’s “Kenyan anti-colonial behavior” comment (Sept 2010).
6. One of the underlying premises of disrespect towards the President is that he can be ordered around and dictated to like he’s Tipi the laundry boy. The presumption that a U.S. President can be ordered around is a new phenomenon that appears to have gotten underway around January 2009.
7. Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer puts her finger in the President’s face (January 2012).
8. GOP House, prompted by Tea Party — refuses to raise debt ceiling (Aug 2011).
9. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) Publicly Announces His Top Political Priority (Dec 2010). (McConnell wants the President out of office?)
10. Speaker Boehner refuses speech date request (September 2011).

That seems a little disrespectful, too, somehow.

called him a "mongrel."

John Sununu called him "lazy"

Being compared on protest signs to Hitler, called "lazy"by John Sununu,: Dinesh D'Souza says he is "filled with anti American rage" Glenn Beck says he"doesnt understand or accept American values" and "is taking us to a place to be slaughtered"

Just the beginning...

You are correct: "Consider the sources." I'll take the WWII vets over Teabaggers anyday!

By the way, I was born in Honolulu in 1953. My dad was in the Navy and stationed there. He retired from the Navy and we moved to California when I was about a year and a half old. But I still have "memories" of Hawaii in photos and 8mm home movies.

My family gets a kick out of looking at my birth certificate issued by the "Territory of Hawaii."

<snip>
WASHINGTON -- As President Barack Obama was celebrating his inauguration at various balls, top Republican lawmakers and strategists were conjuring up ways to submarine his presidency at a private dinner in Washington.

According to Draper, the guest list that night (which was just over 15 people in total) included Republican Reps. Eric Cantor (Va.), Kevin McCarthy (Calif.), Paul Ryan (Wis.), Pete Sessions (Texas), Jeb Hensarling (Texas), Pete Hoekstra (Mich.) and Dan Lungren (Calif.), along with Republican Sens. Jim DeMint (S.C.), Jon Kyl (Ariz.), Tom Coburn (Okla.), John Ensign (Nev.) and Bob Corker (Tenn.). The non-lawmakers present included Newt Gingrich, several years removed from his presidential campaign, and Frank Luntz, the long-time Republican wordsmith. Notably absent were Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) -- who, Draper writes, had an acrimonious relationship with Luntz.

For several hours in the Caucus Room (a high-end D.C. establishment), the book says they plotted out ways to not just win back political power, but to also put the brakes on Obama's legislative platform.

"If you act like you're the minority, you're going to stay in the minority," Draper quotes McCarthy as saying. "We've gotta challenge them on every single bill and challenge them on every single campaign."

RWers and the RW leaning media ate, drank and slept nothing but Benghazi
for months after that. Their tirade will continue at the drop of that word.
