we could all walk a little taller and stand straighter because we had our PF Flyers.

For the youngsters on board: PF Flyers were "guaranteed to make a kid run faster and jump higher."

(15,682 posts)more than anything I can remember at about the age of 7. They were free when the Weenie mobile came around. My father wouldn't take me to get one. In the movie The Santa Claus, the husband also had always wanted a Weenie Whistle and remained crushed for never having gotten one as a child. His wife was crushed over the Mystery Date Game she never got.
Well, my daughter found an original Weenie Whistle (through the internet) and give it to me for Christmas this past year. (My sister, btw, got the Mystery Date Game when she was still a child. Guess who daddy's favorite was? lol)

(15,682 posts)Bennie Rodriquez uses a brand new pair of PF Flyers to beat the BEAST (a ferocious dog, Hercules) and retrieve a baseball signed by Babe Ruth. It made the movie seem more authentic, I think.
(Btw, didn't Cal have a dog named Spot?) "Go see Cal, go see Cal, go see Cal - and his dog Spot"
