I've been here since before DU was launched and I say I FUCKING HATE HILLARY!!!*
Can I have a buncha recs for hating Hillary?
*Nope. I don't hate Hillary. I admire the Secretary of State greatly. Don't know who I will support in the primaries, but I've been here since I was a mod in Bartcop's forum, and I do not hate Hillary. If Hillary is the nominee I will vote for her because SHE'S THE FUCKING DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE!
Rec for confusing me! LOL!

All of us seem to be fans of Democrats.

His not criticizing Hillary does not mean he prefers her, it means that he intends to stay out of the fray. He has many friends who will be running, and his priority is to see that some Dems get elected to finish what he started.
This is my man, this President, and I love him for his tenderness and loyalty to Americans of every stripe, regardless of their party, color, or religion.
Even when I know he doesn't like someone, (I can tell), I love his delicate way of expressing himself so that no one's feelings are hurt. I love this man, and wish his mother were to be cloned to raise more like him.
He knows Hill is not a progressive, and I doubt he wishes her on us.

(11,175 posts)To be fair, Rahm later apologized for that remark. He apologized to advocates for the developmentally disabled, for comparing those folks to us, so vile are we.
Obama also hired Gibbs, who denounced some Democrats as "professional leftists".
So, this "fans of Democrats" thing seems to have its limits. The demand for party loyalty is a one-way street. Liberals are a free-fire zone, but any criticism of a Democrat as being too conservative is unacceptable.

(51,122 posts)Sounds like you have voted for a Democrat at least 5 times.
No wonder you ended up at a site called DEMOCRATIC Underground.
I've voted for a lot of Democrats. In fact I have a 100% Democratic voting record since I voted for Jimmy Carter in 1980.
I plan to continue that pattern of voting.

(29,673 posts)I was one of those who voted for Todd Akin in the primaries. There were a number of people in Missouri who realized that Claire McCaskill was in trouble in the 2012 election and chose to vote for the weakest candidate in the Republican race. We were still worried about her until he released his gem of an interview that allowed the entire world access to his idiocy.
If Clinton is the party candidate in the GE of course I'll vote for her. I'll also campaign for her and canvas door-to-door, as will my daughter. I've never understood all the hatred on DU against a woman whom holds an excellent chance of being our candidate-and shows leading the polls against every Republican that can be dragged out of the woodwork. After reading the polls you'd have to start digging up Republicans out of their cold graves to find someone who can hold their own against her.

(15,438 posts)It appears that there are a LOT of "I hate Hillary" OPs being posted lately, and in rapid succession - and by posters with suspiciously LOW post count...and supported by DUers who dislike the Democratic Party. But they know up until she announces she will run, they won't break any ToS rules so they're trying to do as much damage as they can before she does.
I admire the Secretary of State and former Senator of New York, too, and much like you, I don't know who I'll support in the the primaries, but there's ONE thing I keep front and center before me...I want a Democrat to win the White House in 2016 and I want a Democratic Party controlled Senate again. I will vote for whichever Democrat can win the primaries and general.
and rec!

(14,195 posts)If she is the nominee I will be sad. But I will no longer vote for the lesser of two evils. That lets both parties fuck us. No more. Earn the vote, or you don't get it. Maybe this repub congress will do the heavy lifting for us, what with their initial votes to restrict abortion, etc. They can't help themselves, it seems. I hope we get a real choice, a real democrat, not HRC.
1StrongBlackMan
(31,849 posts)I never really understood that "I will not vote for the lesser of two evils" argument.
Would voting for a candidate that was "right" on some issues; but I disagreed with on others, be me voting for the lesser of two evils? Take Webb for an example, I like his positions regarding the middleclass and a lot more; but detest his stand on race. If he was the Democratic nominee and I voted for him, would I be voting for the lesser of two evils?
I have not seen a single candidate that met every one of my policy position preferences ... so, wouldn't my every vote be voting for the lesser of two evils?
Thespian2
(2,741 posts)when the corporate bosses make sure that the candidate from each party is a corporate shill who will do as they are commanded, then your vote is meaningless. You may try to find the lessor of two evils, but they are both evil.
Both Republicans and Democrats have stables full of losers. 2014.
1StrongBlackMan
(31,849 posts)That bring me back to my Webb example ... He gives no indication that he is a "Corporate shill" and he is on record indicating that he wants to roll back Civil Rights gains ... something important to me.
Wouldn't that be a lesser of two issue for me ... or any one that gives a damn about Civil Rights?
Thespian2
(2,741 posts)is an admitted Third Way corporate shill, re Goldman Sachs. She is more Republican than Democrat. I don't believe she gives a tinker's damn about civil rights. Compared to Jim Webb, who claims to be his own man, but does not care about civil rights, your problem is simple. Can you stand Webb's positions? If not, HRC is the evil you choose...lessor in your mind.
1StrongBlackMan
(31,849 posts)Or does that only apply with some lesser of the evils?
Thespian2
(2,741 posts)the lessor of two evils, but it is often impossible because candidates are chosen by corporations. Obama was the lessor of two evils both times he won. Pit against McCain and Romney, he was the only choice. Fortunately, the GOP failed to "True the Vote," and they did not manage to steal yet another election. Worked twice for them with W. Now, the GOPers are trying to fix the electoral college (an antiquity which should be thrown out, as Georgia did with the County Unit system). Republicans are, and always will be, against fair elections. Choosing how to vote becomes more difficult every election cycle.
1StrongBlackMan
(31,849 posts)or, rather, BUT, choosing HRC (should she be the surviving Democratic nominee) over Romney or Bush or Huckabee or Cruz is unacceptable?
Thespian2
(2,741 posts)will not help the American people, only the 1% she represents. She will be far worse than Obama because she will do all in her power to keep the control of the government firmly in the hands of her corporate masters. All the progressive programs America so desperately needs, will be ignored as much as possible. Will she be less worse than any Republican? Of course.
1StrongBlackMan
(31,849 posts)In allowing the worst to happen in just about every other area affecting the lives of other of the American people because HRC won't make things better on this important; but, narrow, issue?
Thespian2
(2,741 posts)the meaning of what I have said thus far. To repeat, the country will in worse condition all around if HRC becomes president. Even worse, if any Republican becomes president. Is that clear, now?
1StrongBlackMan
(31,849 posts)what a President Romney or a President Cruz or a President Paul, would bring economically? Really?
Thespian2
(2,741 posts)the answer to your question, which I have answered, is no. She will be worse than Obama; much, much worse than Warren; so much worse than Sanders, it doesn't bear thinking about. She would be a disaster for the American economy, but not as bad as the idiots you named. I'm tired now.
1StrongBlackMan
(31,849 posts)do you think a President HRC would veto any legislation introduced by a Democrat? If not, how could she be so terrible for America?
Thespian2
(2,741 posts)YES. If Goldman Saches, The Carlyle Group, The Koch brothers, or any other GREEDY BASTARD instructed her to, but that is not how the people taking over America work.
1StrongBlackMan
