So The Donald has spent a fortune on buying land in Scotland to set up a fancy golf course only to find out the Scottish government wants to build an off shore wind farm nearby.
The Donald is not happy! He took his fight to the Scottish Parliament today.
"Scotland, if you pursue this policy of these monstrous turbines, Scotland will go broke," he said. "They are ugly, they are noisy and they are dangerous. If Scotland does this, Scotland will be in serious trouble and will lose tourism to places like Ireland, and they are laughing at us."
Trump told everyone there that wind turbines will harm the environment and ruin the tourism industry. When he was challenged to produce some hard facts to back up his claim, he responded...
"I am the evidence, I am a world class expert in tourism."
His credentials were met with a reaction that Trump is probably not used to in public venues.
The public gallery burst into laughter.

(3 posts)The Donald is the perfect personification of the "Republican Male", He's narcissistic, bloated and has bad hair. Perhaps he would go along with an oil refinery of that land.

(28,498 posts)Last year, I was driving west on I-70 from KC to Denver and passed a wind farm in western Kansas. I was mesmerized! The graceful rotation of the blades was surreal.
I found it relaxing (but not enough to affect my driving!). I'd even go so far as to say my blood pressure might have dropped a few points.

(3,231 posts)Hilarious! I was at Walgreen's the other day and noticed a gigantic display poster for some contest sponsored by Trump (and "The Apprentice" and it had his gloating sourpuss and bad wig on full display. I then suddenly realized that I need to stay away from Walgreen's until they can shake their infection by evil forces.

Mr Trump You are not in USA anymore - you are in Scotland... And I think Scotland will survive as a nation, and as a golf destination for top-elite regardless of your little golf course... And I suspect the golf courses in Scotland is of a quality not even Trump Inc. can compete it...

(82,849 posts)Really, the only polite response to so much of T Rump's antics is derisive laughter. For some unfathomable reason, however, he's accorded the royal treatment from our popular media, instead of being shunned like the short-fingered vulgarian he is.

(28,498 posts)Apparently so are his sons:
It seems Donald Jr. and his brother Eric went to Africa on a hunting trip last year, and their tour company, Hunting Legends, decided recently to brag of the mens prowess on their Web site, complete with graphic photos of the brothers and their kills. And heres a shocker theres something about rich white men smiling with the carcasses of the African animals theyve killed that a lot of people just dont like.

"The research, commissioned by VisitScotland, shows:
+83 per cent of respondents in Scotland and 80 per cent of UK respondents stated their decision to holiday in the UK would not be affected by the presence of a wind farm
+80 per cent of respondents in Scotland and 81 per cent of UK respondents either disagreed with or neither agreed nor disagreed that wind farms spoil the look of the Scottish countryside
+46% of respondents said that they would be interested in visiting a visitor centre at a wind farm"
