Once, it was customary in much of Europe to give a disgraced or criminal military officer a pistol.

In the British army of the late 1800s, they would also typically give him a bottle of whiskey, the idea being for him to get drunk, screw up his courage, and put a bullet in his head, thus saving himself, his family, and his country the embarrassment of continued association with his misdeeds.

This is how I'm starting to feel about Republican Senators.

end it all like a gentleman. Or, how about Karl Rove? Do you think he would do that, saving his family and country the humiliation, rather than face justice in a criminal court? I doubt it.

Fuckers would put them in Bernie Sanders' water pitcher.

GOP senators are the kinds of people the Japanese invented seppuku-with-a-feather for: they gave the really dangerous fuckers something blunt instead of a knife; when they reached over to pick it up, the swordsman chopped their heads off.

I'm sure it's true the two thing they lack are the honor and guts to do what they should. Beyond that, they are so self-interested they couldn't care less how their decisions affect others so long as their bead is feathered.
