Incoherent Spasm

RW types have to be hateful, above all things. They are wired such that hatefulness produces a spasmodic jolt of dopamine, while intellectual consistency, objectivity and decency do not.

For some of us, saying that Obama is a Muslim atheist provokes anxiety, since the two terms cannot be reconciled. (Though for the more philosophical and meditative among us the Muslim atheist might be a koan, akin to the sound of one hand clapping.)

To a RWer, however, "Muslim atheist" is two shots of dopamine.

How else to explain Monica Crowley's intimation that Sandra Fluke is a lesbian?

Sandra Fluke is, in the RW universe, the definitively heterosexual woman. She is defined by having sex with men. She has no other identity! She is a birth control addict... the welfare queen of contraception... a slut who goes through so many men that she demands that poor Rush Limbaugh pay for her excesses.

But when the opportunity arises for comment, she's presumptively gay. (In case anyone doesn't know, Monica Crowley responded to the announcement that Fluke is getting married by tweeting, "To a man?&quot

The thing is, marriage is an RW good but Fluke is a left wing evil-doer. So is Fluke gets married then it must be the bad kind of marriage... gay marriage.

All Democrats get gay-married. It's just how we roll.

Crowley (or one of her defenders, I forget which) basically said, "Lighten up, it's just a joke. Jeez, you libruls are so humorless." Followed up by Crowley twitting "Still waiting for an answer." If it's a joke, then you're not expecting a serious answer; if you're expecting a serious answer, it's not a joke. See, they're mutually exclusive categories, Monica.

But the double shot of dopamine (maybe we can call it the Double Dope?) is well-nigh irresistible.
