Kicking at a hornets nest: Westboro hints that they will picket Nimoy's funeral.

I can only believe that these people want to be hated.

http://www.inquisitr.com/1881975/westboro-baptist-church-announces-intent-to-picket-leonard-nimoys-funeral/

As Star Trek fans mourn the death of beloved actor and ‘geek grandfather’ Leonard Nimoy, another group is expressing a different stance. The Westboro Baptist Church hinted Friday at plans to picket Nimoy’s funeral, using a variety of slurs too offensive to be repeated here.

It’s worth noting that the Westboro group doesn’t always show up when they threaten, and, perhaps more encouraging, that when they do show up, there are frequently counter-protesters, who hold up their own signs, or even block access so that the group can’t get close enough to the event to cause extra pain to the family.

5. He's famous? George Takei was a friend and co-worker and he's gay, ergo condemned and hated by

Westboro's warped god and so is anyone who admires, is friend of, or works with Takei?

He was a possitive force for kindness and goodwill in the world?

Who knows what lurks in the warped corners of the dark souls of these people?

When they restricted their antics to picketing funerals of gay folks, they couldn't manage to stir up enough outrage, so they added veterans to the list, to get a larger reaction.

I suspect that Trekies are just too big a group to offend for them to ignore.

10. They try to provoke people into violence, and then they sue them.

It's a hell of a way to make a living.

It's best to ignore them, and maybe be prepared to peacefully mock them whenever they do show up. Mocking them won't change their behavior, but it might make you feel better.
