Why Republicans win, part another
You know damned well that if Democratic Speaker of the House invited the head of a foreign country to address Congress, not a single Republican would show up.
Not one. This is why Republicans win despite having an utterly berserk world view: they fight, they fight, they fight. And they've won this one, because they'll look strong, while our President and Congressional Democrats look weak. @#$&.

1. Because some people claiming to be Democrats
consistently trash Democrats who manage to get elected to office? Amazing but true.

9. Maybe that's because they act more like republicans
than Democrats after they get elected. Being critical of those we elect is a healthy thing as they are supposed to serve us not corporations. Regrettably the latter is too often true.

4. Well, my congressperson will not be there.
She's a Democrat. Betty McCollum. Look her up.
How about yours? |

10. Judy Chu... IDK
but, my old friend and former congressman (redistricted out) will go. I've let his staff know how disappointed I am. Of course both our Senators (Boxer & Feinstein) will capitulate and give credence to this show of disrespect.

5. I agree that Congressional Dems look weak...
At least the ones who aren't boycotting look weak.
How does Obama look weak in this instance? What do you think he should do about Netanyahu's speech? |

11. It isn't a matter of how strong Republicans look pulling the stunt . . .
. . . It's a matter of how weak Democrats look when they refuse to take a unified, principled stand in response to the GOP stunt.

Which is good imo.
