Pres. G.W. Bush DIDN'T Give The Order When Bin Laden Was At Tora Bora

So their talking point that "Any President would have given that order" is simply false. The Republican party's most recent choice for Commander-In-Chief failed to give that order even when it was a much easier order to give.

But they didn't do that either, because Fury says that plan was also disapproved. He says he has "no idea" why.

"How often does Delta come up with a tactical plan that's disapproved by higher headquarters?" Pelley asks.

"In my experience, in my five years at Delta, never before," Fury says.

even having lived through the shrub years, it's still mind-boggling, especially with the right-wing bent of the media, that shrub was SO bad, and so OBVIOUSLY bad, that he managed to lose the not just tarnish the republican brand, but in the end, he may well be responsible for ceding NATIONAL SECURITY as an "issue" to the democratic party.

nevermind that republicans have always been far more bluster than ability when it comes to national security, the media and the popular consensus has looooooong been that this "issue" was a republican strength.

perhaps, perhaps, no longer.

a bit of a silver lining in the dark, dark cloud that was the shrub years.

9. That's because to Republicans it's a grave insult to compare somebody to Carter.

They don't recognize that Reagan intentionally screwed around to delay the release of the captives in Iran or that Reagan then made the decision to sell arms to Iran and unpopular rebels in Nicaragua.

It cuts in to their drooling hero worship.

But Gary Berntsen, the CIA officer in charge of the agency's paramilitary operation in Tora Bora, was convinced that air attacks alone wouldn't get the number one target, Osama bin Laden.

"We needed U.S. soldiers on the ground!" Berntsen wrote in his 2005 book "Jawbreaker."

"I'd sent my request for 800 U.S. Army Rangers and was still waiting for a response. I repeated to anyone at headquarters who would listen: We need Rangers now!"

Bush's Tora Bora fail should be mentioned every time the Cons claims what Obama did was no big deal.
