Although, after driving a gas hog Jeep for years and trying to basically keep it up so I HAD a car, I now have one with "better" gas mileage.

Funny, but I went to a car show recently (1900's to the muscle car era), and MANY managed to get better gas mileage, even with all that American steel and heavy tire ingenuity, compared to what's being sold under current standards!

The percentage is higher than that. 90% is wrong.

I think the "Got Science?" meme can counter the hundreds of other
right wing bumper stickers I see everywhere these days, and make people think
for a change.

Maybe Huntsman did a bit of math and decided that even the right wouldn't buy the 97%
number.

It's the "third rail". Notice all the attention the Chinese dissident who "blew the whistle" on forced abortions and sterilizatons is receiving. The human animal doesn't like to be told what he can and cannot do, and reproduction seems to be the most sacred of individual rights--unless you DON'T want to reproduce, then to hell with your rights.

Eventually this problem will correct itself. I just grieve for the other species that will be destroyed by our self-absorption and avarice.
