Remember when Republicans shut down the government last year, and it was an utter fiasco for them? Most Americans were furious at that stunt, and Republicans ended up totally capitulating?
Well, I haven't been watching the news for some months, but I'm guessing that Republicans must have paid dearly at the ballot box last November. And the lunatic ringleader of that collosal @#$& up, a Canadian-born fellow IIRC, has probably never been heard from again. LOL, people once spoke of him as a Presidential contender.

(145,129 posts)They are talking about passing a Rand Paul type law to let this idiot run for both POTUS and Senate in 2020 http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/bart-hester-tom-cotton-arkansas-ballot
An Arkansas lawmaker already has Sen. Tom Cotton's (R-AR) prospects in 2020 on his mind. State Sen. Bart Hester (R) introduced legislation that would let candidates appear on the ballot simultaneously as House or Senate candidates and presidential candidates as well.
Hester specifically mentioned Cotton when discussing the bill.
"Tom Cotton would be my current idea of someone who should be afforded this opportunity," Hester said, according to the Associated Press. "Politics, if I've learned anything, it changes every day and there could be the great next hope show up tomorrow. But I don't think it's reasonable to say I wouldn't be looking at Tom Cotton to have that opportunity."
Shutting down the government apparently did not hurt Carnival Cruz too much.
The amusing concept is that for this plan to make sense, the Ark. GOP is conceding the 2016 race to the Democrats

Perhaps if you rallied the Internets, Manny, we could.

(30,439 posts)I see it as more of a "neener neener neener" type of OP....as in:
"Neener neener neener! Cruz and the GOPers shut down the government in late 2013 and nothing happened.....and nothing will happen with Tom Cotton either! Neener neener neener!"

(40,168 posts)I just watched that washed-up right winger Joe Malone on NECN Braudside program defending the actions of the Traitor Tots.
Jesus Christ, he looked like he just climbed out of a dumpster behind the Boston Herald - unshaven, long greasy hair, oxford shirt unbuttoned down to his bellybutton. You woulda loved it - a real classic ending to a Massachusetts republican politician.

(4,482 posts)And the republicans seemed to do very well at the ballot box last november considering they gained 9 senators (and senate control), 13 representatives, and 1-2 governorships (depending on how Bill Walker votes)

Then they were all prosecuted! IIRC one was a Marine that was Court Marshaled and sent to Gitmo.
:sigh: Those were the days.
Yep, this stuff is consigned to the memory hole.
