When you get into this line of work, youre in public office, you expect youre gonna have cheap shots taken at you. Thats part of the process, the Louisiana Republican said.
The thing that probably frustrated me and hurt me the most was when there were inaccurate stories written about me or stories that were written that were trying to imply or infer things that werent true.
A few gestures like supporting VRA and having gone to Selma this year (not next) rather than going to a AEI's secret meeting would have help fight the "false" narrative.

Cheap shots? How can it be a cheap shot if you were caught on camera asshole!?
I swear, some of the most worthless people in American history reside in positions of power and are unfit to be in charge of anything bigger than a matchbox.

He's still carrying on about all those perfumes of Arabia, 'eh? You can't hide from what you did, and what you were, and what many of us suspect you still are, dude.

(2,063 posts)I'm not racist because a black legislator vouched for me and I coached some black kids. This is the type of guy who thinks "credit to his race" is a compliment and any discussion of privilege is being overly PC.
Anyone who buys this 'not a racist' bullshit is gullible as hell.
Everyone in the district and their dog knew about David Duke and EURO. And his neighbor, the one who invited him to the conference, was a EURO official. District 1 is a white hood friendly area.
Scalise was pandering to his base (and I do mean base).
It's not inaccurate to figure out that someone comfortable enough to address a white supremacist conference in a serious fashion and vote against MLK day is harboring at least some animosity towards non-white people.
