(30,058 posts)will be probably for the rest of my life. Just because everyone may not believe the same as you do on issues does not make them Republican any more than it makes you not something else. We should not be jumping on the dino wagon, it is not nice.

(39,909 posts)...is their contempt for the little people beneath them,
their feelings of entitlements to Riches,
their dispensation from the Laws of the Land,
Their incredible self-centeredness and selfishness,
their propensity to start WARS that profit the 1%,
their rigging of the tax code so the RICH pay almost nothing,
their Party Wide Racism,
their lack of ANY empathy for Americans who are suffering under the Economic system,
their authoritarianism and expectation that the peasants will run to do their biding
THAT, and more, is what makes them Republicans.
Unfortunately, in today's Democratic Party, too many of OUR reps feel the same way.

(30,058 posts)For those they consider above them? It doesn't exempt them from being DINO. Perhaps there are many in the DNC who are more fortunate than others but to have contempt either way is not normally the heart of a true Democrat. It only adds to the division of our party. If problems of the lower ones is important to you then step up to unite the DNC to have a stronger voice and pull together to get some of our issues achieved. If it isn't important then don't complain when achievements do not happen.

(39,909 posts)Contempt for the "lower classes" came first.
I also have contempt for those
who try to scam me, or try to convince me that the false is true.

(39,909 posts)My Wife & I moved to The Woods in 2005,
and started growing our own food.
Nothing makes me happier that standing in the Strawberry Beds on a Spring morning and picking my breakfast.
I also have a wonderful, loving wife who eats our Strawberries and Asparagus with me
with moans of pleasure.
I still have nothing but contempt for Conservatives.
They tend to harsh my mellow.
I can do both.
You should work on that.

(30,058 posts)Effort and as I gather my crops I am thankful again for the bounty. I do not like the crap thrown by the GOP either, ergo I continue to vote, don't know if it will turn back to blue in my lifetime but I will continue.

(9,610 posts)but I do not consider anyone to be "above" me. Likewise, I do not consider anyone to be less than me. I do however consider certain actions and thoughts to be unjust and/or immoral. Typically those actions/thoughts are ones which propagate stratification of the human race.

(30,058 posts)Good. I agree with you and do not think others are above me. I am not jealous if my neighbor buys a new car every year, I am content within myself and do not want to waste my time on hate.

(33,688 posts)for state offices but that was in the 1970s, when there still were sane, responsible adults in the Republican party. And that was a long, long time ago. The libertarian looneys, paranoids and "born-again" fly-eating lizard "people" have been running the Repub party here in MN for about 25 years now, and chased out all the sane ones about 20 years ago.
