Tom Cotton Suggests Critics Of Indiana Law Should Be Grateful State Doesn’t Execute Gays (VIDEO)
[/font size - 5]

Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) recently appeared on CNN and urged critics of Indiana’s religious “freedom” law to get a “perspective” and then he did what every Republican does to deflect the issue – he suggested that we compare the United States to Iran and then we’ll all see just how great we have it in America! Because gays aren’t executed here. Yay!

Cotton said, “I think it’s important we have a sense of perspective. In Iran they hang you for the crime of being gay.”

See that, you gay people?? You need to just shut up and be thankful that you’re *only* discriminated against. Quit yer whinin’ and be happy you’re allowed to breathe!

in his mind christian sharia law is all there is. Too bad he lied so vigorously to gain a seat in our Senate. He's a big time cheerleader for the US as a theocracy and will stop at nothing to make sure it happens... which is why he's so dangerous. Well, one of the big reasons.

the Arkansas Republican Party thinks he's prime presidential material and wants to pass a law specifically to let him run for Senate and the presidency in the same election

I am certain that we have a major problem on our hands and making it well known that this was NEVER a nation built on religious dogma. The challenge is that, as I have stated in my sig line, you can lead a mind to knowledge but you can't make it think.

I'd always associated Arkansas with Bill Clinton, and thought they were fairly moderate. This person sounds like the reincarnation of Jesse Helms, with a dash of Ahmadinejad thrown in!

The truth is, Iran hasn't stretched anyone's neck for either apostasy or consensual sodomy for quite a few years, but either one is punishable by death there.
