Liberals Bernie Sanders And Al Franken Stand With Obama In Support Of Iran Nuclear Deal

Senators Bernie Sanders and Al Franken are standing with President Obama by praising the progress towards a diplomatic solution to Iran’s nuclear program.

In a statement, Sen. Sanders (I-VT) said, “While much more work remains to be done this framework is an important step forward. It is imperative that Iran not get a nuclear weapon. It also is imperative that we do everything we can to reach a diplomatic solution and avoid never-ending war in the Middle East. I look forward to examining the details of this agreement and making sure that it is effective ‎and strong.”

Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) called on Congress to give the negotiators more time to finish the agreement, “Americans want to prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon, and they would prefer to do it through diplomacy rather than military action. This breakthrough agreement is an important step toward that goal. I believe that Congress now should give our negotiators time and space to work out the details of a strong, verifiable comprehensive agreement.”

Democrats and liberals get it. Republicans are trying to sabotage any Iran nuclear agreement because they want a new war in the Middle East.

or something like that?

"Democrats and liberals get it." So - liberals are now being framed as different than Democrats. Fucking good to know, really!

So an intersecting Venn diagram seems appropriate. But yeah, the fact that they're trotting out the liberal caucus to defend these sorts of no-brainers like "let's try diplomacy before we unilaterally obliterate a nation and destabilize the region/world (and empower the likes of ISIS) over perceived WMDs!" doesn't augur well.

In the real world, Iran does need a bit of nuclear capability for medical and energy purposes. For the party that doesn't believe in science, they assume a bomb can be created by an x-ray machine. A dirty bomb, maybe, but every country on the planet has that capability. The bottom line, for the GOP, is that this is Obama's deal and it must not be successful no matter what the cost.

13. No, they will not. They can not legally, and since the public is well behind this..you are happily wrong.

And it is not "Obama's deal" no matter how long they hold their breath and say it.
