Anderson Cooper Puts The Smackdown To Rushbo...

http://www.thewrap.com/tv/article/anderson-cooper-answers-rush-limbaugh-gossip-you-might-try-gym-time-time-38531

CNN's Anderson Cooper answered criticisms from Rush Limbaugh with some health advice for the cigar-loving, often-sedentary radio host.

Limbaugh responded to reports of lower CNN ratings by saying on his show that Cooper may be spending too much time in bars, restaurants and the gym

-----

"I'm concerned about heart disease, I've raised money to fight heart disease, my dad died of it. And yeah, I try to take care of myself. Mr. Limbaugh, I can only hope that you're taking care of yourself as well. You might try the gym from time to time. It really is something you can incorporate into your life pretty seamlessly," he said.

"As a matter of fact, most gyms now have TVs. You can prop up reading material on the cardio equipment. So you can put, like, I don't know, The National Enquirer right there on the elliptical, crank up the volume on Access Hollywood, and get your research done, at the same time you're improving your big heart."

Limbaugh's criticism is about Cooper's ratings and appears to be saying that Cooper is letting his show slide while spending his time doing other things. That makes Cooper's reply seem odd, essentially "I'm letting my show slide because I'm concerned about heart disease and besides I can watch Access Hollywood at the gym".

?

Then going on to poke fun at Limbaugh's weight is odd too. Didn't Limbaugh lose over 150 pounds over the last decade? I mean, he's never going to appear adorable but its not like he's obese. (I was going to say "fat slob" but too many people seem to think those are synonyms and I don't want to promote ignorance.)

IMO, Cooper needs to ignore criticism. Or if he can't ignore it, figure out what the criticism was and figure out how to respond to it coherently before opening his mouth.

CNN really is very boring. It's what they play in airports and gyms and other non-confrontational venues. It's a network that actually treats Barack Obama and hopeless flip-flopper M. Romney as somehow equal counterweights to any argument. It's unwatchable.
