(15,064 posts)all people, who have less days left on the earth because they are older, think like Ted Cruz, Tom Cotton or their ilk. Some still hold the belief of peace and equality that came out of the 60's. I also have always had issues with celebrity. Just because someone was "lucky" enough to have a hit record, movie or be born to a famous father or mother that their word holds more importance than the nurse, factory worker, EMT or other person who is not famous. I know they have a following and can get the ear of their fans etc. but the country, or world for that matter, will never really change until the so called "common" people are listened to and not dismissed as not intelligent enough or relevant enough to be listened to. 74% of the country are for gay marriage. A majority want gun control.
It's not words but the ebb and flow of time that tends to change things. Words are like the sails of a boat that takes humanity in a right or wrong direction. Bully pulpits are helpful but actions are the only thing that has ever prevailed for the good.
