Easter services pray for an end to the persecution of Christians

The Pope delivered a mostly sombre "Urbi et Orbi" message: "We ask Jesus, the victor over death, to lighten the sufferings of our many brothers and sisters who are persecuted for his name, and of all those who suffer injustice as a result of ongoing conflicts and violence - and there are many."

The pope spoke as churches in Kenya, where al Shabaab gunmen massacred nearly 150 people, turned to armed guards to protect their congregations.

The persecution of Christians in certain parts of the world is very distressing.

While they enjoy an overwhelming majority and simultaneously claim that this is a Christian country. Fucking cry me a river. You will receive no sympathy from me, you pathetic hypocrites.

Now, with what's happening to Christians and Muslims (and everybody else) people should not be punished for what they believe or not believe. That is an inherent human right. The extent that one does not understand that principle is the extent that one is not entitled to call oneself human.

We've had enough of this shit for centuries. It is time to put an end to it. Not necessarily religion (as if anybody could credibly claim that was possible) but intolerance.

The whole thing makes me sick.

Sadly, that is not the case in much of the rest of the world.

The Kenyan massacre is just unconscionable.
