(25,348 posts)..I feel it correlates well with the Gun Culture. "Everybody in this country is going to hurt me" "No..No..You're wrong, the whole WORLD is out to hurt you/us.
Yep, they've done a good job. For all the talk of Americans being "A rugged, brave bunch"...most of us are scared of our own proverbial shadow"

(53,235 posts)instead of baseball teams. Science teams would prepare them to (1) think critically and (2) think creatively and (3) think ahead. Baseball and other sports teams teach (1) Us vs. Them and (2) winning is all and (3) winning requires physical strength/skill.
Being old now and having grown up female, I wasn't allowed to be part of the "sports teams" but I had plenty of physical activity. Jumprope, bikes, roller skating, ice skating, swimming, chalk-on-asphalt games. I usually did these with other kids. All I asked for as a kid was a chemistry set, but my mother wouldn't allow it. "You'll blow us up." I got plenty of dolls. I would have loved to be on a science team, but U.S. culture killed that.
Cuz U.S. culture is all bullshit. It teaches the 99% to want to kill and die for billionaires.
