This is rare: Moose spotted several times in Nebraska Panhandle

A wandering moose is roaming western Nebraska in the tracks of newcomer mountain lions, elk and bighorn sheep.

Nebraska Game and Parks Commission officials say a moose has been spotted numerous times by residents in the North Platte River valley in the Panhandle.

Confirmed sightings suggest that the moose has been in the region for several weeks and was last reported in Morrill County.

Moose are rarely seen in Nebraska. Wildlife biologists suspect the recent arrival came from Wyoming. Unlike breeding populations of cougars, elk and bighorns established in recent decades, Nebraska has no wild moose herds.

I'm impressed!!! How in the world does someone as young as you know Bullwinkle? I swear I would get blank stares if I used a Bullwinkle line at work.

The winters have become too warm for them at this point, and they're dying from insect infestations.

The last time a moose was spotted near Chadron was several years ago, and someone shot and killed it. Figures. Good luck to this one.
